Positive Prayer / Positive Thinking

Positive Prayer is Much More Powerful Than Positive Thinking

Don’t get me wrong, I believe in positive thinking, for positive thinking leads to positive feelings, which leads to positive actions!

However, I also believe people will reject our suggestions, and they may resist our help. Yet, they are powerless against our prayers! It has been proven true in my life. I can talk and talk about God to my children, yet it is the power of God who moved them to action. They used to just “roll their eyes” at me.

When we look to the Bible, Where we can find any examples, such as Paul, who gives us an example of how to pray for others in Philippians 1:9-11(NIV):

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.”

We pray and ask:

  • Abound in Love – They will grow in love for others

  • Discern what is best – They will make wise choices

  • Be pure & blameless – They will do the next right thing

  • Filled with fruit of righteousness – They will live for God’s glory!

For when we ask, we have because we believe - with a joy-filled heart!

In verse 4 Paul states: “whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy."

Let us join Paul as we pray for others today!!!
